Eco-Friendly Finds For Healthy Living in 2023

Choosing more sustainable options for everyday products can be something that we all strive for, but it can be sometimes hard to manage or overwhelming. To make things a bit easier for everyone, I wanted to share a list of my vetted, favorite eco items that I use daily or weekly.

The Sheets Laundry Club laundry detergent sheets are a great alternative to plastic container detergent. One box can last an entire year for a one-person household! As a tip, tear them in half for a smaller load of laundry to make them go further. When you’re done, even the cardboard packaging is biodegradable! For an added boost of freshness, add in an ecoegg Laundry Egg to the wash. These are reusable for up to 70 loads!

Being sustainable in the shower can be a challenge, but I have found a good shampoo bar that works fairly well. Ethique solid shampoo bar is always a good to-to.

If you’re in Europe the Festes shampoo bar mit schokolade (with chocolate) is one that I used while in Germany that works pretty well. Rock Creek Soaps conditioner bar is one of the better solid conditioners I’ve tried, which you can find at their online store. I will admit that it is hard to find a good zero waste replacement for conditioner. I’ve tried MANY and none moisturize as well as Giovanni conditioner/hair mask (which I’ve been using for years and has much cleaner ingredients than most) for my chronically dry, naturally straight hair. I’ll keep searching for a more sustainable option!

Another important step is to have the right storage to keep the shampoo bar dry between washes for added longevity. I love the TAILI double layer soap dish suction cup soap holder so much so that I packed it along for a move to Europe. The soap trays pop out so it leaves the remaining tray with slots that let’s air in and keeps water out.
